Gladiator 2 will be released as “R Rated”
The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) confirmed this week that Gladiator 2 will receive an R Rated rating when it is released this year. The movie is rated this way for “intense violence and gore”.
The highly anticipated sequel will follow the epic story of Lucius, Lucilla’s son Lucius from the first movie. Paul Mescal is in the lead role of the movie. Mescal takes over this role from Russell Crowe, who won an Oscar for his role as Massimo in 2000.
In addition to Paul Mescal, the film’s experienced cast includes Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Connie Nielsen, Denzel Washington, May Calamawy, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Peter Mensah and Matt Lucas. The movie is directed by Ridley Scott and written by David Scarpa.
